Move along to the links above! There's nothing to see here!

God (when i say God, i could very well be refering to Allah/Buddha/Beelzebub or whatever deity you feel free to worship) knows what the hell i'm likely to write in my blog...i've never had a blog before, never really felt the need to have a blog - come to think of it, it's only from shear boredom i'm even creating this monster!

ok - so I never particularly cared much for Brogden - he always came across as a whinging school boy who was anti-current government while never offering any constructive criticism - but did they have to hound the poor guy till he was ready to top himself?

This is a man who all of his life has revolved around becoming a politician and then as quickly as he rose through the ranks he fell out of them. What would have maken his fall from grace even harder to handle was that he's been surrounded by yes men for so long that he never really knew what the rest of the state thought of him.

A small scandal where he gets plastered, cracks onto some women, and makes a few racists jokes and suddenly he's the worst man ever? Let's face it - as a politician he shouldn't be at an official function and letting himself get drunk to allow himself to be in the position where he's acting like a lout - but at the same time every damn politician is a drunken, racist, womaniser - so he's in with good company.

And who is the other alternative? The son of a communist leader who's damn well started his own dictatorship in our state! How in the hell can someone take over, sack everyone, replace half of the ministers with people who have never actually been voted in, and replace the other ministers with himself and still call it a democracy? He's not only more liberal-minded (think george dubya) than the liberals but he damn well should just start calling himself Hitler.

I'm trying to work out a weekend I can send my parents on for their anniversary. I figured it is about time I did something for them both so that they can get away from it all. They always seem to go on the same holidays each year - so this time something different.

The itinerary thus far will be something along the lines of:

1. Fly to Sydney on Friday evening;
2. Breakfast at Pancakes on the Rocks, The Rocks;
3. Leisurely walk along the harbour foreshore to either the Sydney Harbour Bridge and/or along the Botanical Gardens;
4. Picnic lunch either in the Botanical Gardens and/or on Shark Island - I'm leaning towards Shark Island at the moment;
5. Afternoon either at Shark Island and/or the Botanical Gardens;
6. Dinner at Cammeray;
7. Breakfast at Chatswood Westfield - no trip of theirs is complete unless they get the opportunity to go to a shopping centre;
8. Leisurely stroll through the Sunday markets at the Rocks - they love looking at junk;
9. Dinner and/or coffee at New Orleans laying back to listening to some jazz music; and
10. Jetting off back home.

Cruise Control

Why in the hell does cruise control not control the rate at which I cruise? If cruise control doesn't control cruise speed - what does it control? Everytime I look down I'm either going too slow or too fast. The cruise control on my car slows down going up hill and speeds up going downhill. It drives like me! The cruise control on my car has less cruise control than I do!

I've gotten these really nifty chord trousers which have brown chord on a navy background material (note to self work out what the part in between the chords is called before trying to describe it next time) - I love them! The only problem I have is the cut in them isn't quite the same as some of my other trousers so they don't seem to quite fit right for now - but they'll get used to me, or me them, one or the other.

At least they're a better buy than my $85 shirt for work. I think I might have already said this - but I always repeat myself aimlessly anyway. I had a choice between checked, checked, and white. I chose the check-check. The problem with one of them was that it, although flat in the store, was one of those shirts that no matter how much you iron it it still looks crinkled up. So everytime I wear it my boss makes a remark about how I need to iron. The last boss used to give me that type of comment all of the time - but that was with iron-free shirts, and I don't care what anyone says there is no way in hell that I am ironing an iron-free shirt - for two (2) reasons - one (1) you can't actually iron an iron-free shirt without melting it and two (2) the damn principle of it all!

Umm...I really need to get out more - time for breakfast - I am starving! Cook me breakfast bitch! erm I mean ms non-descript local cafe.

There's this former Chinese diplomat who has "defected to the west" in Australia at the moment trying to claim diplomatic refugee status. The government denied him. Then he comes out and says: "I have special secret assassins coming over from China to kill me!"

First of all - he's out here and keeps saying that he wants our government to protect him from the Chinese and put him into protection - and the way he asks for this protection is by puting his face out there on tv, his voice on radio and almost any media service that will talk to him while bad mouthing China - hell even I'd kill the guy to shut him up! It reminds me of the Simpsons episode where they're wearing t-shirts that read "we're in witness protection" or whatever they were. But if badmouthing an entire country on television while asking to be put into protective custody and seeking political asylum isn't bad enough his whole "secret assassin" thing takes the cake - they're not very secret if the guy they're after knows that they're after him!

One (1) of my friends dog recently fell ill - i hope for her sake she gets better, but the thing that amazed me was that in the middle of the night on a saturday night the dog managed to get an emergency x-ray and emergency surgery done on the sunday. If this was a person the same treatment would not have happened in this day and age. The 80's and 90's when we had a medical system with "doctors" and "nurses" and "hospitals" - sure people and patients were looked after - but now? Now there's no doctor or radiologist or any one that works in a rural area on the weekends. The person would get transferred to the hospital, the hospital would have one (1) or two (2) medics on call who would stabilise, the person would then get transferred 300km's away or be left stabilised until the monday morning when the specialist could look at them, by which times they'd be dead - it is amazing how they manage to pull it all together for a pet but not for a human.

Now - don't get me wrong - I love animals - I just think that there is something wrong when our veterinary system is better than our healthcare system. They should be as good or bad as each other. Equality is a bastard.

ok... in no particular order.. here's how i would ideally have my life turn out (or at least the part before 30)... married by 24, children by 26, live overseas before 30, run city to surf next year... be off meds by 24, be 65kg by 25, by house by thirty... round the world trip before we have children...now, i've started thinking about how i'll achieve my goals, but i really want to know yours, because that way we can try and reach our goals together.

Umm - how about no. I'm fine with my current weight. I'd rather buy a house than by a house by thirty (30). I'm not on medication. I don't want to get married this year.

I'm afraid - very afraid.

The astronauts made it back in one (1) piece...ok now here's a conspiracy theory:

1. NASA blew up the last shuttle and/or it never actually took off;
2. This was to increase funding/media attention for the next space flight; and
3. There never was anything wrong with this shuttle at take off they just talked it up so that we the unsuspecting public actually paid attention.

Hmm...makes sense to me.

The silly thing is that we've gone backwards...now we're celebrating the safe return of a shuttle that made it into out of space and back again. In 69 we were celebrating returning from another world! Gives us another fourty (40) years and we'll be celebrating taking off the ground!

Lost(or insert 24 or any other show of that ilk) all those type of shows shit me to tears. I've seen the first episode of Lost and accidently saw one this week - the scary thing is that after an entire season I am still Lost as to what the fuck the show is all about and why it hasn't ended. I checked the website hoping that it would tell me how/if it ends - but nothing! the website says nothing! it's a conspiracy! a conspiracy! this show never ends...it never ends!

i can't find anyone who actually watches the show that can tell me anything more than it is a show about people who crashed into an island. I can't find anyone who can tell me how it ends. I can't find anyone who can tell me if it ends.

DOES THIS SHOW EVER END? EVER?

Please someone put me out of my misery!

Note: 24 also shits me to tears - but a friend told me that when you get it on DVD and sit through an entire series all at once or over a week that it is rivetting - this I would believe. Maybe lost is the same? Or maybe lost can't be brought out on a DVD because it is too big because it never fucking ends!

"Working to ensure a safe return to Earth next week, the astronauts pored over instructions sent up from NASA engineers and began piecing together a makeshift hacksaw that Robinson may use in his task on Wednesday."

Ok - call me stupid, (and with an opening like that you probably will, but why in the hell doesn't the space shuttle have a repair kit? Billions of dollars have gone into the space program and yet they've omitted one of the most elementary of things.

Although I can't talk too much - I haven't checked my spare tyre since I've had my car.
